Pastor Keith is a country boy from the mountains of western North Carolina, and he's never pretended to be anything else. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1990, and it was there, a long way from home, that the Lord got hold of him. He came to Christ while wearing the uniform, and he's been following Jesus ever since.

After five years in the Corps, Keith came home to the mountains with his wife, Shane, and their growing family. They've been married since 1992 and have three grown children and three grandchildren (Grayson, Shelby, and Salvie), who call him Papaw. He'll tell you that's the best title he's ever had. His family is his first ministry.

God called Keith to preach in 2010. He came to Zion in 2011, served three years as associate youth pastor, and has been senior pastor since 2014. He preaches the Bible straight through, in plain words, because he believes God's Word is plenty for anybody who'll listen.

Folks at Zion will tell you their pastor loves the Lord and is a little rough around the edges. He won't argue with them. Some folks love that about him; some are still getting used to it. But what you see is what you get: a Marine who got saved, a mountain man who got called, and a Papaw who'd rather talk with you than at you. If you've got questions, just ask.
